Dear colleagues,
We are very sorry to announce the sudden loss of one of our members of the network, Dr Ian Grant, Public Health Scotland, UK. We would like to convey our deepest condolences to his family and friends, colleagues from Public Health Scotland and the international Burden of Disease community, and everyone who knew Ian.
Ian had a long career in public health. Over the last decade, Ian was instrumental in the creation, and developments of the Scottish Burden of Disease study, work which has been shaping the direction of the public health response in Scotland. He was a key part of our European Burden of Disease Network, as co-lead of the Methods Working Group facilitated and contributed to the developments of our Network, and many of our key publications.
We would urge our Network members to support each other, and to take time during our upcoming conference to share your stories and memories of Ian.
