The COVID pandemic has forced us to find innovative ways to keep the network alive. Throughout the pandemic, a number of virtual networking tools have been implemented that now form the basis for a solid virtual networking strategy.
Virtual mobility grants
Virtual Mobility (VM) grants enable scientists to foster collaboration in a virtual setting. They aim to strengthen the existing network by allowing individual participants to foster collaboration, to exchange knowledge, to learn new techniques, etc. The successful applicants will be selected to perform activities that do not necessarily require in-person presence. These activities may include surveys, questionnaires or preparation of protocols, virtual mentoring of activities that can generate capacity, build new skills, etc.
More information about VM grants is available via www.burden-eu.net/activities/virtual-mobility-grants.
Webinars
The burden-eu webinar series aims to create opportunities for global exchange and discussion on burden of disease studies, methods and knowledge translation. The webinars are open to anyone with an interest in burden of disease.
More information about our webinar series is available via www.burden-eu.net/activities/webinars.
Online events
During the COVID pandemic, face-to-face meetings have been replaced by online events. In addition to dealing with travel restrictions, such online events also created opportunities for reaching a wider audience. We are organizing the following types of online events:
- Meetings: www.burden-eu.net/activities/meetings
- Workshops: www.burden-eu.net/activities/workshops
- Training schools: www.burden-eu.net/activities/training-schools
Spotlights
Spotlights are short blogposts where network members present their work in a personal and vulgarizing way. The spotlights also describe how the presented work benefited from the COST Action.
More information about our spotlight series is available via www.burden-eu.net/news/spotlight.
Newsletters
Our virtual newsletters aim to inform our members about our activities and overall developments in the domain of burden of disease.
An overview of past newsletters is available via www.burden-eu.net/news/newsletters.
